Are you traveling this Labor Day weekend? If you are, you're not alone. Millions of people will be either hitting the road or flying the friendly skies this upcoming weekend.
According to AAA, in South Dakota, 69,000 people are expected to travel during the holiday weekend. That number is up from last year. 67,000 South Dakotans traveled last year.
According to AAA, Air travel is up because of the decrease in airfare. More people are also driving by car this year.
But for many people, gas prices aren't having much of an impact. The national average is $3.71 for a gallon of regular gas.
If you're hitting the road, here's a look at what you might be paying at the pump in our tri-state area.
Keep in mind this is a state average. In Minnesota, the average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.70. In South Dakota, $3.73 and over in Iowa, a little cheaper at $3.67. Prices are actually lower than they were one week ago.
