The number of West Nile Virus cases continues to rise in South Dakota.
South Dakota remains among the top states with recorded West Nile Virus cases. There are now 98 total human cases of West Nile Virus in South Dakota. Eight reported cases in Minnehaha County and two in Lincoln County. Brown County is marks the highest amount in South Dakota with 28 human cases.

State health official say the number of cases is expected to rise since carriers of the disease never know they are infected with West Nile.
