Clean up continues after Hurricane Isaac

Posted: Updated:

A former South Dakotan now living in Louisiana is cleaning up after Hurricane Isaac.

The pictures she sent us show a popular bar completely surrounded by water in Louisiana.

Tracy Roskens says she will continue to help her friends clean up the mess that now surrounds their home. Furniture sits in front of many homes waiting to be picked up.

Flooding is minimal in some areas but now people in Louisiana are worried about the pressure on the levees.

"The Mississippi River started flowing backwards at 8 mph at one point up to Baton Rouge which is 60 miles from New Orleans. That's pretty severe," Tracy Roskens said.

Hurricane Isaac was a category one storm but it seemed to have done a lot of damage in many areas. Many people are still without electricity.
