Sioux Falls police issued 585 tickets during its saturation patrol in school zones and complaint zones.
Sioux Falls police increased patrols in school zones last week Monday through Friday. Patrols were also increased in complaint areas when schools were not starting or being released.
Officer Sam Clemens said one of the high complaint areas is near the 10th Street and 11th Street viaducts.
232 of the tickets issued were inside school zones and 353 were issued in high complaint areas.
Officer Sam Clemens said he was pleased to report there were no DWI arrests in this year's school zone saturation patrol.
The rest of the violations go as follows:
- 252 speeding tickets.
- 71 no insurance
- 72 seatbelt violations.
- 8 driver's license violations
- 22 parking tickets
- 26 warning tickets
