The 2012 Mack Butler Cross Country Invitational took place at Kuehn Park this afternoon in Sioux Falls. Unlike previous seasons, both the boys and girls team scores were combined this year with Roosevelt winning the event. The Rough Riders were followed by Lincoln, Washington and O'Gorman.
In the Girls 4K varsity race, Washington's Kelsi Kearney took first place with a time of 16:04:81. She was followed by Chastin Leikas of Roosevelt, and teammate Cassie Stoick.
On the men's side, Lincoln placed 1-2-3 in the Boys 5K varsity race, with Nathan Schroeder crossing first at 16:38:35. He was followed by teammates Luke Jelen and Will Lauer.
