USD Men's Basketball Gets Transfer from North Texas

VERMILLION, S.D.– University of South Dakota head men's basketball coach Dave Boots has announced the addition of Trey Norris to the men's basketball program. Norris, a transfer from North Texas, will be eligible to compete in the 2013-14 season.

 A six-foot, 170-pound point guard, Norris played one season at North Texas. As a freshman in 2011-12 he averaged 11.7 minutes per game while participating in 31 of 32 contests. Against La Sierra Norris set career highs with eight points, five rebounds and five assists.

 A native of Grand Prairie, Texas, Norris played at South Grand Prairie high school. As a senior in 2011 he averaged 16.4 points and 3.7 assists per game, was named the District 5-5A MVP, participated in the TABC State All-Star Game and was named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State team.
