2 teens caught drinking at Huron police officer's home

Posted: Updated:

Two teens are in trouble after being caught drinking at the home of a Huron police officer.

Zachary Cranston, 18, and Mitchell Younie, 19, were caught drinking at the officer's Alpena home on August 15. The home belonged to Huron Police Department's Captain Dan Marottek, who was in a garage out back while the kids were inside.

At midnight August 15, police responded to a tip call of underage drinking. Beadle County State's Attorney Michael Moore says there were other minors at the home, but they were not drinking.

Cranston is charged with underage drinking. An arrest warrant has been issued for Younie because he ran from the scene with alcohol in his hands. State's Attorney Michael Moore says Younie faces an underage drinking charge and now a charge for obstruction of justice.

Captain Dan Marottek is not facing any charges at this time.
