A Sioux Falls man looking to settle the score against a man who punched him is now facing an assault charge.
Udiel Lopez, 23, was arrested for aggravated assault Friday night near the 600-block of South Palmer Place.
The incident happened Friday at 9 pm. Police say the victim was walking to his car when Lopez came up behind him and hit the man repeatedly with a metal table leg. At some point Lopez threw the table leg to the ground, grabbed a chain and started strangling the victim.
A neighbor noticed the commotion and called police. Police say Lopez knew the victim because the victim punched Lopez in the past. Police say Friday night's action was retaliation.
The 48-year-old victim received several cuts to the head and the torso. The victim was hospitalized with non life-threatening injuries.
