RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A new program at the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology aims to help female engineers.
The women's mentoring program works with students in the mechanical engineering department. A record number of 41 women are enrolled in the department this semester.
While the female enrollment has been slowly climbing, officials say they are worried about retaining those students.
The mentoring program kicks off with a breakfast on Tuesday.
