Northern State University raised $29.4 million dollars for student scholarships and facility improvements.
President and CEO of Northern State Foundation, Todd Jordre was ecstatic with the effort the foundation put on. "It speaks highly of our volunteers, our administration," Jordre said. "You want to reach your goals and when you exceed them it pushes things over the top."
The grassroots effort started out five years ago and set their goal at $27.2 million.
Since 2005 NSU has given out $12.7 million to more than 9,350 students in scholarships. Jordre expects that number to increase with the recent donations.
