Washington's Johnson throws perfect game

Senior Katie Johnson pitched a perfect game and the Warriors didn't give up a hit until the 4th inning of game two in a double header Monday night against Lennox at Sherman Park in Sioux Falls. Washington won by scores of 6-0 and 10-0.

In game one, Johnson struck out 19 of the 21 batters she faces in the seven inning game. Johnson, junior Emily Winckler and sophomore Regan Sheldon were all 3 for 4 at the plate.

In game 2, the Warriors scored 4 runs in each of the first two innings, led by Johnson and sophomore Amiera Michaeli who were both 2 for 3 at the plate. Sophomore Anna Nichols struck out five and gave up three hits in the shutout.

The Warriors are 13-0 on the season and play Roosevelt in a double header Thursday night before a four game series this weekend with Rapid City Central and Steven in Rapid City.
