Area Firefighters, EMS, Law Enforcement, Dispatchers, and Veterans will gather Tuesday night in Sioux Falls to honor those lost on September 11th, 2001.
It's been 11 years since the attacks that took so very many lives. Ask anyone where they were 11 years ago today and most everyone will be able to tell you. Of the nearly 3,000 people who were killed that day, hundreds were first responders. Many firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical responders lost their lives that day, and in the days that followed.
Over the years we've heard so many stories of true acts of bravery. First responders running into the burning buildings because they felt they had to. Saving the lives of many before many lost their own life while trying to save others.
With these acts of bravery in mind Area Firefighters, EMS, Law Enforcement, Metro Dispatchers, and Veterans will gather in memory of 9/11 on Tuesday. People in those fields are invited to come talk with one another Tuesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Central Fire Station 1, 100 South Minnesota Avenue.
