Posted: Updated:

Candles, flowers, and a few signs are sitting in front of Cost Cutters in Sioux Falls. They are in honor of Amanda Connors who was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon.

Police say 24-year-old Amanda Connors happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Police say she was shot and killed by 38-year-old Tyrone Leeon Smith on Tuesday afternoon. Police say Smith later turned the gun on himself.

We spoke with one of Amanda's closest friends, Adam Sieff. They grew up together in Ellsworth and Luverne, Minnesota. He says the world lost a wonderful human being and a kind, loving person. "Back home in Ellsworth people are asking why? Why did this happened? Why such an evil thing and who could do this, and especially to Amanda? She's the sweetest person and she's got an infectious laugh and is just so fun loving and a fun person. She's a good friend to so many people so I know people are just stunned tonight and hurt and are trying to figure out why this happened," Sieff said.

Sieff also told us Amanda was a very sweet person. He said people he's talked with are stunned that she is gone. He says many of his friends want to help the Connors with memorial and funeral plans but right now it is much too soon.

There are still many questions surrounding Amanda's death. Stick with KSFY News for the very latest as more information because available on Wednesday.
