PINE RIDGE, S.D. (AP) - The federal government is delivering mobile homes to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota to help families displaced by a mid-July wind storm.
The first of 20 Federal Emergency Management Agency homes arrived Tuesday. Oglala Sioux Tribe President John Yellow Bird Steele said others will arrive in the next few weeks.
He says the goal is to get all of the displaced families in a home before the weather turns cold.
