Our KSFY.com Game of the Week was a great 11-B matchup as No. 3 Flandreau hosted No. 1 Tri-Valley.
The Mustangs had won 15-straight games and are defending state champions. However, the Fliers were 3-0 coming in and off an impressive win last week in the SoDak Bowl.
Our highlights start in the second quarter of this game with Flandreau leading 10-6. Tri-Valley quarterback Brett Page in trouble after he overthrew his receiver, allowing Flandreau's Geno Taylor-Burshein to intercept the football and return it to the 8-yard line.
On the ensuing offensive drive, Flier's tailback Jacob Patterson would go off right tackle for the short touchdown to put Flandreau up 17-6.
Feeling the momentum swinging in their favor, the purple and gold would strike again before halftime. All-purpose back Jace Christensen used a 35-yard run to set up a short touchdown for the Fliers and a 24-6 halftime lead.
In the second half, Tri-Valley would cut the deficit but Flandreau snaps the Mustang's win streak with a 24-22 win.
