Sioux Falls Police reclaimed some storage space on Saturday by holding a public surplus auction.
Items for sale included iPods, cars, scrap metal, and lots of other confiscated property.
Some say these events are helpful to not only those who attend but also to the entire city.
"I think it's very important. It keeps people out of the dumps picking trash, that kinda stuff, and getting the city money instead of charging us tax dollars. I think it's a good thing," said Karl Zody.
The next police auction has not yet been set.
