A discharge petition to force the U.S. Congress to vote on the Farm Bill has reached almost a quarter of the votes it needs to be effective.
Representative Kristi Noem and other members of congress have circulated the petition to force the vote of the farm bill which has stalled in recent months.
The petition was released Thursday. As of Friday the petition had 39 signatures. The tally reached 53 signatures Monday morning with two signatures withdrawn.
