Volunteers are needed for the annual homeless count in South Dakota. The survey is being conducted September 25.
The South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium is looking for volunteers to count the number of homeless families and individuals.
Volunteers will work in groups throughout the day and evening to ask specific questions.
According to a news release from the Minnehaha County Homeless Advisory Board, homelessness can happen at any time to someone whose income or lifestyle suddenly changes because of a job loss, divorce, medical illness, natural disaster, or various other reasons.
