RAPID CITY, S.D. (AP) - A botanical garden is coming to Rapid City.
Destination Rapid City will plant a botanical garden in Memorial Park and add a granite sculpture to Main Street Square thanks to a $1 million donation from the Vucuravich Foundation.
The grant goes toward the granite sculpture, freeing up money for the Memorial Park promenade.
Organizers are still looking for a specific location in the park, and construction on the botanical garden will start early next year.
Dan Seftner of Destination Rapid City says it will provide a tourism boost.
