NEW ORLEANS – In the first regular season U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) national rankings, Augustana women are ranked No. 1 and the men at No. 5.
The Viking women retained their No. 1 ranking while the men dropped one spot from the preseason poll. Adams State (Colo.) is currently the top-ranked men's team.
Coach Tracy Hellman's Vikings' next competition is the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 29 in St. Paul, Minn. Both the men's 8,000-meter race and the women's 6,000-meter race will be held at the University of Minnesota's Les Bolstad Golf Course.
Both the men and women will be competing in Gold Division I races, the men starting at 12:20 p.m. and the women at 1:10.
