The Northern Meat Packing Plant was suppose to be opened in late 2011. Almost a year later the plant is still in production phase.
KSFY News contacted David Plamer, the CEO of the plant and Palmer did not wish to comment on the situation until later next week.
KSFY did speak with Gail Ochs, President of the Chamber of Commerce and she said the delays are actually a positive for the community.
"Delays aren't always a bad thing. Letting our communities get ready for the beef plant, letting people get ready for work there," Ochs said. "Its a good process."
Ochs did not know an exact date when the plant will be finished, but is extremely excited for the opening.
"Were excited to see growth. We're excited to see new people into our community," Ochs mentioned. "Some of those people will open their own businesses so we are a growing community and we welcome them."
