Operation Opening Doors is holding its kick-off ceremony Tuesday night, from 5-7 PM in the Aberdeen VFW Center.
The organization's goal is to raise $100,000 to remodel Staff Sergeant Sean Johnson's home after he was injured in Iraq.
An accident in 2006 left Johnson with loss of eye sight in his left eye and the left portion of his right eye.
At the kick-off ceremony there will be raffles and a silent auction to help raise money for the cause.
The general public can also donate to an account set up at Plains Commerce Bank across the area.
Mail donations are also accepted:
Plains Commerce Bank, ATTN Operation Opening Doors, 524 S Dakota Street, Aberdeen, SD 57401.
In-kind donations and donations of time and talent can be directed to Jack Hollinsworth with JDH Construction, Inc. 605-725-0050.
