One Arrested in Standoff

Posted: Updated:

Sioux Falls Police have arrested one man after a 3-hour standoff. Around 1:45 Wednesday morning the Sioux Falls Police Department was called to 628 S. 3rd Ave. #4 for a domestic dispute.

Before police arrived, they say the 27-year-old girlfriend of the suspect took off from the scene with the couple's 1-year-old child. When officers arrived, the suspect had a utility knife and was saying that he was going to harm himself. The couple's seven and five-year-old children were inside the home with the suspect. SWAT and Negotiators were called in. Right before 5:00 a.m. 33-year-old Willylon Waylon DeNoyer was taken into custody. He was lodged for Domestic Simple Assault and outstanding warrants.

While on the scene KSFY heard two loud explosions. The first one was around 4:45a.m. The second sound was around 4:55a.m. We are still trying to find out what those loud noises were. We will bring you that information as soon as we have it.
