$40,000 Powerball ticket sold in Sioux Falls

Posted: Updated:

A Powerball ticket sold in Sioux Falls is worth $40,000 following the September 26, 2012 drawing. The lucky ticket holder matched four of five white ball numbers and the Powerball to hit the game's $10,000 third prize but because they had purchased the Power Play option on their ticket, the prize is multiplied to $40,000.

Winning numbers are 13, 26, 39, 41 and 42 and the Powerball is 10. The odds of winning the game's third prize are 1:648,976. The owner of the ticket is advised to sign the back of it immediately and put it in a safe place before contacting the Sioux Falls Lottery office at 605-367-5840 or the Pierre Lottery office at 605-773-5770. Winners have 180 days to claim their prize.

Powerball is played in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A single ticket sold in Bondurant, IA hit the $202 million jackpot for the September 26, 2012 drawing. The jackpot currently sits at $40 million for the next drawing on Saturday, September 29, 2012.
