ABERDEEN, S.D. (AP) - A film director who first called Aberdeen home is returning to South Dakota for the weekend's film festival.
Eric Dwight was born in Aberdeen and lived there until he was 9. He returns as director of "Bus 1107," a basically no-budget film that has been hailed as the best family film showing this weekend.
Dwight, 35, now lives in Omaha. Much of his six-minute silent film was shot in a day, and one of the actors doubled as a production assistant.
The South Dakota Film Festival features 48 films through Sunday. Of those, 30 will have cast or crew members from Aberdeen. "Bus 1107" is scheduled to play at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
