NorthWestern Energy volunteers took to Riverside Cemetery to plant $5,000 worth of trees.
The service project is a part of NorthWestern's centennial year celebration. The company's goal is to do 100 service projects across the Nebraska, Montana, and South Dakota region.
"We're really happy to be a part of this and give something back to the area," Tom Glanzer of NorthWestern said. His group of about 25 volunteers planted 45 trees throughout the cemetery.
City Forester, Aaron Kiesz says trees in the area were much needed. The cemetery had heavy moisture problems and the trees will counter act that issue.
