To friends and family Mike Hill was simply known as uncle mike
On the day of Mike's death his family was at a loss of where he was.
"We started looking right away for uncle Mike and my cousin and daughter took off too to see if he made it home and so we asked Sandra and she didn't know," Katie Hill said.
Mike's death is believed to be from an accident that stemmed from a fire as two acres burned on the north side of Sisseton.
"Right there I knew something was wrong if he wasn't with them," another family member said. "So I went to my moms house in Sisseton and was running around and talking to the sheriff to so if he had scene him."
Family says mike always had a smile on his face and wouldn't hesitate to say, "Hello." The youngest of nine, Mike wore many different hats in his family as a father figure, uncle, best friend and brother. Mike was the father of seven children and had 12 grandkids.
His funeral is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Area District Center.
Mike's family says he was a huge Minnesota Vikings fan, and they say wherever he is now, Mike will surely be in the front row for the game on Sunday.
