This week's KSFY.com Game of the Week was a rematch of last year's 9AA State Title Game between Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan and Kimball/White Lake in that game.
The Seahawks topped the Wildkats last year but with neither program slowing down this season, it was another great battle in Ethan this afternoon. B-E-E came into the game as the No.1 team in our KSFY/KWSN poll, while Kimball/WL was second.
In the first quarter, the Seahawks struck first in the ground and pound style game. Tailback Anthony Huber powered his way in from 1-yard out to give his team a 6-0 lead.
However, the second quarter belonged to the Wildkats. Quarterback Jesse Taylor helped drive his team down field and capped it off with a 1-yard touchdown to put Kimball/WL in front 8-6.
Late in the first half, the road team would strike again. Running back Trevor Reinisch found a hole and scampered 10-yards to the endzone, putting the Wildkats up 14-6 at halftime.
Right out of the break, the Seahawks fought back thanks to Kyelie Herrick, who helped to tie the game at 14 with a short touchdown run out of the break.
Still, the Wildkats would not go away. On the next possession, Jake Kirsch would steam into the endzone for the 1-yard touchdown score, giving Kimball/White Lake back the lead 20-14.
Their defense would hold Bridgewater-Emery/Ethan down the stretch, helping lead them a 26-22 upset road win.
