More than 40 high school bands were walking through downtown Sioux Falls on a cold Saturday morning for the Festival of Bands event.
Students came not just from South Dakota high schools but Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska.
It started at 8:45 this morning and the groups marched 8 blocks.
10,000 visitors come to Sioux Falls for this event. We talked to one of them.
"They practice every morning, they get up early. They have to be up to practice at 7:00 A.M. and they practice until 8 or 8:30. They put in hours and hours," Lisa Houg said.
The festival then shifted to Howard Wood Field for a competition.
It was the 25th year for the event.
It is hosted by the 3 public Sioux Falls high schools and O'Gorman High School.
