ABERDEEN, S.D. – Presentation College has officially applied to the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) and fully expects to be accepted for the start of the 2013 athletic school year next fall. PC has also established a scheduling agreement with Dakota State University, Jamestown College, Mayville State University, and Valley City State University, all of which are in either North or South Dakota.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to possibly join the NAIA and feel that it will shape our athletic program for years to come," said PC Athletic Director Brian Spielbauer. "The scheduling agreement will also allow us to spend less time and money on travel, enabling us to put that time and money back into our athletic department."
The move to the NAIA will also allow PC to offer its student athletes the possibility of receiving athletic scholarships, which will strengthen the athletic department.
"This move is more than just about being able to offer athletic scholarships," said PC President Dr. Margaret A. Huber. "It is about joining an athletic association that is dedicated to building the whole person through its core values and Champions of Character Initiative."
