Our KSFY/Taco John's Athlete of the Week fought through an injury to score the game winning goal in the first ever girls sanctioned high school state soccer championship this past Friday.
Aberdeen Central junior Paige Sommer scored the game winning goal in overtime as the Golden Eagles beat O'gorman for the state title.
Late in regulation of the game, Sommer suffered a separated shoulder. She played with her arm wrapped up to end it.
In all, she scored four goals in the state tournament.
Sommer lead Aberdeen Central with 23 goals on the season.
