With less than a month to go, more than 17,000 South Dakota voters cast their ballots early thanks to absentee voting.
According to the South Dakota Secretary of State's Office, 28, 341 absentee ballots have been requested and 17,369 of those were returned. Only 22 of the absentee ballots have not been sent out to eager voters.
The deadline to register to vote is Monday October 22, with the General Election happening November 6.
