PIERRE, S.D. (AP) - The South Dakota Highway Patrol says two Huron teenagers have died in a one-vehicle crash near Alpena.
Authorities say the driver of the car, Emmanuel Martinez, 16, lost control on a curve Sunday afternoon. The car entered one ditch, slid across the road and rolled in the other ditch.
Martinez died at the scene. The passenger in the car, Marisol Corona, 16, was taken to the Huron Regional Medical Center and later transferred to Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, where she died of her injuries.
The Highway Patrol says neither Martinez nor Corona was wearing a seatbelt.
