According to Avera Health in Sioux Falls, Senator George McGovern is no longer responsive.
McGovern remains in care at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, where he was admitted to Monday October 15. According to a release from Avera Health, McGovern is surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
McGovern was admitted to hospice with a combination of medical conditions, due to age, that have worsened over recent months. The family is thanking everyone for the care and compassion in the last few days.
