A study by CNN/Money ranked Aberdeen as the number 23 best place to retire in the nation.
The survey said a strong selling point was having two hospitals in a close proximity.
Well-built cultural in the area and historical buildings were pluses for the city, and the study gave credit to the friendly atmosphere Aberdeen offers.
City Mayor, Michael Levesen is happy to say the city has activities for those who just retired. "People can retire from and work and not retire from life. There are still an awful lot of things to do."
Although the population of Aberdeen is nearing 30,000, the study credited the city for still having a "small town feel."
Albuquerque, New Mexico was rated the number one place to retire, while Portland, Oregon and Louisville, Kentucky were two and three.
