KSFY News apologizes to McGovern family and viewers

A spokesperson for the family of Senator George McGovern says the former senator's condition remains unchanged. McGovern is still unresponsive.

McGovern's death was tweeted by a KSFY staffer after receiving inaccurate information that was reported elsewhere and not confirmed.

McGovern was admitted into Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls on Monday. Family members reported Wednesday he was no longer responsive.

KSFY News regrets the error and sincerely apologizes to the family of Sen. George McGovern and our viewers.
