3. Dow Has Lowest Close Since June

The Dow had its lowest close since June and its biggest drop for 2012 on Tuesday, sparked by disappointing earnings from several key corporations. Despite Wall Street's bad day, the Dow is still up 7 percent for the year.

4. State Investigating Pharmacy Linked to Meningitis

State officials investigating a pharmacy linked to a fatal national outbreak of meningitis said on Tuesday that they found poor sterilization practices and unclean conditions there. The outbreak has sickened 308 people across 17 states and killed 23 people.

5. Pet Pig Credited with Finding Missing Cat

One family's pet pig is being credited with tracking down a missing cat. Colby, a 1,000 pig who lives on a New Hampshire farm, went into the woods three days after several animals on the farm went missing after a fire and sniffed her way to one of the family's missing cats. The cat had been injured but is now back home.
