FBI: Body found in Ft. Thompson is similar to description of missing teen
An official with Federal Bureau of Investigation in Rapid City said the remains of a body found in Fort Thompson could be that of a teenage girl missing since May.
Last weekend, two teenagers found the body while walking in Fort Thompson. The family of Shauntae Hope Marks believes it is the body of the missing 15-year-old.
The Center for Missing and Exploited Children identifies Marks as an endangered teen stating she was upset over a relationship and Marks said she was going to hurt herself.
Bob Perry, FBI in Rapid City, told KSFY News the results of an autopsy will not be complete for a few weeks. However, Perry told KSFY News the remains are consistent with a description of Hope Marks because they seem to be the right age, size and gender.
Perry said he cannot confirm the identity of the body until the autopsy report is complete. KSFY News has reached out to the family of Shauntae Hope Marks, but has not been able to reach anyone for reaction.
