The South Dakota Legislature is looking for 22 ambitious college or university students to intern for the 2013 Legislative Session.
According to the Legislative Research Council, the deadline to apply for internships has been extended because of the low number of applications received thus far. The new deadline is now October 29 and internship positions are open to all college and university students.
The legislative Research Council's internship program designed so students can achieve a greater understanding of the government process, as well as provide assistance to the legislative branch of government.
Interns would serve as partisan staff working with legislators and assisting with bill briefs, constituent service and other legislative tasks. The internship awards college credits along with $4,800 in compensation.
