
Sioux Falls, SD: An arrest has been made in conjunction with the standoff this morning at 1814 E. 3rd Street.
Johnny Jay Thomas, 38 years old, has been charged with nine counts of Aggravated Assault on Law Enforcement, Manufacture Controlled Substance, Violation of Drug Free Zone, warrants, and was also placed on a mental health hold.
Police received a call of a possible suicidal person around 12:50 a.m. Thomas was found at 1814 E. 3rd St. The SWAT team and Negotiators were called at 2:30 a.m.
Around 9 a.m. Thomas made a Molotov cocktail and threw it at the SWAT rescue vehicle. The device did not ignite. SWAT shot pepper spray into the house and Thomas came out at 9:15 a.m.
During the standoff, Thomas pointed a rifle at SWAT officers several times. A search warrant was issued after his arrest and a one-pot meth lab was found in the house.
