One person has died and another was seriously injured in a one-vehicle ATV crash.

It happened on S.D. Highway 20 three miles east of Onaka in Faulk County.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol says there was a total of four people on the ATV.

The driver, 53-year-old Gary Rausch was driving a 2012 Polaris ATV northbound on a private driveway when he turned right onto Highway 20 and lost control of the vehicle. The ATV rolled onto the driver's side, pinning Rausch and Amaya Larson underneath the vehicle.

Rausch was transported to a Faulkton hospital with serious, non-life threatening injuries.

Authorities say Amaya was transported to the Faulkton hospital where she died of her injuries. Kalon Larson and Jalon Larson, both minors, were not injured in the crash.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. Faulk County Sheriff's Office and Faulk County Ambulance assisted.
