Ted Kneebone is doing everything he can to bring a passenger rail-line back to Aberdeen.
The spring of 1969 was the last time a functional passenger railroad was in the Hub City. Kneebone said many people agreed that 40 years was too long not to have a passenger railway
"I brought along more than 300 signatures of people who would like to see the trains come back." Kneebone said.
Kneebone took his campaign to Milwaukee, Wisconsin at this month's meeting of the National Association of Railroad Passengers and spoke at the conference looking for support.
"I'm happy based on my responses," Kneebone said. "Some are quite passionate."
KSFY News spoke with BNSF Railway Company in Aberdeen and they have bad news for Kneebone.
They believe the recent downfall of passenger trains as a mean for transportation will prevent Amtrak from funding a passenger line in the area.
Kneebone is still staying positive though and he would be thrilled if a passenger train line was in the area in less than five years.
