SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A Minnesota man convicted of assaulting a South Dakota woman and locking her in a bedroom has been sentenced to three years in prison.
The U.S. attorney's office says Robert Ford, 41, of Pipestone, Minn., was found guilty in July of kidnapping by confinement.
The 37-year-old victim from Flandreau reported that the Ford assaulted her and confined her to a bedroom in her own house by barricading the door. Ford reportedly fled the scene after other residents in the home heard sounds of a struggle.
