They city of Aberdeen held an envelope auction this afternoon to sell a parcel of surplus real-estate.
Approximately 4.1 acres of land on Mel Rose Drive was up for purchase.
The land was appraised at more than $350,000 dollars.
Lynn Lander, the city manger told KSFY News the city did not receive any bids on the land.
This comes down to mostly timing," Lynn said. "With other sub-divisions going up in the area, it was tough for a purchaser to commit on the land."
The near two square blocks of land is located closely to Aberdeen Central High school and classified as R-2 zoning, meaning only residence buildings can be erected.
With the surplus of jobs being available and more people moving to Aberdeen the city has constructed 741 places of residence.
"The city will continue to own the land and maintain its upkeep." Lynn told KSFY.
