1. Donald Moeller executed 22 years after his crime

Tuesday night South Dakota closed the book on what could be considered one of its most gruesome murder cases—a case that spanned 22 years.

2. Portrait of what Becky O'Connell might look like today

Tina Curl, Becky's mother now lives with her family in Lake Luzerne New York. She told us earlier this fall that she was going to do anything she needed to in order to make sure she was back in Sioux Falls for Moeller's execution. She told us she was raising money to afford the trip back to Sioux Falls.

3. Death Toll Reaches at Least 51 in Sandy's Wake

At least 51 are confirmed dead and at least 2 are missing in the wake of Superstorm Sandy. Many died after getting hit by falling trees. Eighteen were reported dead in New York City.

4. 8M Without Power on East Coast

 Some 8 million people were still without power on the east coast Tuesday night. Nearly 4,000 utility workers from as far as California are expected to arrive in New York City this week to help restore power.

5. Sandy, by the Numbers Sandy by the numbers: it has been 124 years since bad weather caused financial markets to shut down. Water reached a record high level at Battery Park in Manhattan on Sunday night, rising to 13.88 feet. Netflix saw a 20 percent increase in video streaming on Oct. 29 compared to one week ago. New York University has canceled classes until Nov. 5.
