The woman accused of putting a South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper in the hospital during a shooting and car chase is expected to appear in court.
Lincoln County States Attorney said Rachel Coleman, 25, was arrested Wednesday upon her discharge from the hospital. Wollman said Coleman is appearing via ITV from the Minnehaha County courthouse for a bond hearing in Lincoln County.
Coleman is charged for Attempted Murder in the First Degree, Aggravated Assault Against Law Enforcement Officer, Vehicular Battery, Driving While Intoxicated- fourth, one count of Hit and Run and Aggravated Eluding Law Enforcement Officer.
The charges stem from an early morning incident Wednesday, October 17. Coleman allegedly struck Highway Patrol Trooper Andrew Steen with her car. Steen is still in a hospital recovering from those injuries.
