GOP ad attacks McGovern, pulled from air

Let's begin with Matt McGovern's name. He was born Matthew David Rowen. At age two, his parents changed his name to Matthew David Rowen-McGovern. In 2007, he officially changed his name to drop the hyphenation.

Matt McGoven was not born in Wisconsin. He was raised there and graduated from a Milwaukee suburb high school. Matt McGovern was born in Washington D.C.

KSFY received an email from McGovern's lawyer station that the ad is "completely false and defamatory" and asking us to refrain from running it.

Thursday evening, GOP executive director Tony Post responded, "The McGovern camp reached out to us and asked if we can fix it. The ironic thing is that it's (hometown) Washington D.C. I don't know how popular Washington D.C. is right now, so we'll make the fix."
