Posted: Updated:

Tonight's Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week knows what she wants to do for a career and where she wants to do it.

Her name is Rose Konechne. She is a senior at White Lake High School and she has a perfect 4.0 grade point average.

Rose Konechne has a mission in life and it involves working in the field of medicine.
While she is about half-way through her senior year at White Lake High School, She is already looking forward to one year from now when she will be a freshman at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. "Major in biology, do the pre-med program and then hopefully get into medical school and I want to be a radiologist for my doctorate."

Throughout her four years at White Lake, Rose had consistently achieved high marks in her classes: She has tackled three years of Spanish, English and several science related get ready for her next big step. Robert Schroeder is the White Lake Superintendent. "Rose is a...I would say a very strong academic student. She takes the most rigorous course load we have to offer at White Lake. She obviously is the top in her class."

And Rose says she wants to take what she has learned here at White Lake...and what she will learn at USD in Vermillion...and help people here at home....or as close to home as she can muster. "I kinda want to stay in the area if I can. But if I have to go....I can go to know, anything around here would be fine."

And for being named our Touchstone Energy Scholar of the Week, Rose will receive a $100 scholarship from the Central Electric Association Cooperative, which is a local Touchstone Energy cooperative.
