The people of Sioux Falls can now file police reports online with the help of new system on the police department's website.
Sioux Falls police started using Cop Logic which is an online police reporting system. Certain types of crimes can be reported including: thefts, vandalism, lost property, and harassing phone calls.
All other crimes still have to be reported to an officer.
According to the Sioux Falls Police Department, last year the department received almost 6,000 theft and vandalism cases. The police department says having a system allowing people to self report will free more time for officers and shorten the time people may have to spend waiting for an officer to arrive.
