Yankton County is extending its voting time due to an equipment delivery problem. Voting centers in Yankton County will not be open until 7:50 pm.
Yankton County Auditor Paula Jones said the equipment being delivered was an electronic-poll book machine. It was being delivered to the Rock House Restaurant polling place.
Jones said Yankton County is doing voting centers this year which means voters can vote anywhere in the county there is a voting center.
Jones also said moving the time to 7:50 pm gives voters a full 12 hours to vote, and it will not be a problem with results because West River polling places close at 8:00 pm.
